By The Bohol StandardBohol Governor Erico Aumentado and Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chair Bayani Fernando recently led inauguration rites for a two-classroom school building of the Buenavista Community College in Barangay Cangawa, Buenavista town.
The newest addition to the Central Visayas State College of Agriculture, Forestry and Technology (CVSCAFT) system became a beneficiary of a P600,000 school building after the Provincial School Board (PSB) that Aumentado heads identified it as one.
In his message, the governor admitted he holds Buenavista dear in his heart because of the exemplary unity and cooperation that the municipal officials headed by Mayor Elsa Tirol and school officials led by College Director Rena Duallo have shown.
Besides, he said, the school has an almost perfect passing average for the past three years now in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) – besting some bigger schools in the province.
Aumentado said under normal circumstances, contractors would pass off the chance to bid for the project because the already low floor price would leave nothing much for profit especially with the escalating price of cement and steel bars.
As such, he lauded Col. Arnaldo Fernandez Jr. of the 53rd Engineering Brigade (EBde) for rising to the occasion by constructing the building at only P300,000 per classroom already fully painted and complete with toilet, plumbing, electric wiring, insulator ceiling, blackboards and bulletin board through troops of the Macaas, Tubigon-based Engineer Support Battalion (ESBn) under Lt. Col. Ramon Ruiz.
