Press Release
NEXT STOP. Cabul-an Island in Buenavista is Bohol Gov. Art Yap’s next stop in the ongoing outreach program of the provincial government for island barangays.
The governor met the people of barangays Eastern Cabul-an and Western Cabul-an at noontime today to remind island residents that their location may be far from the capital, but there is no distance that the governor won’t go just to tell the people that they are important.
The OPSWD delivered the food packs, each containing 5 kilos of rice and canned goods, to the island on Tuesday.
This morning, the barangay officials distributed the food packs to 467 households in Western Cabul-an and to 485 households in Eastern Cabul-an.
With the governor were Buenavista Mayor Dave Duallo, Vice-Mayor Christine Torregosa, Municipal Councilor Rey Celocia, OPSWD Head Carmelita Tecson, and Barangay Captains Alfredo Tagsip of Western Cabul-an and Leonette of Quiñanola Eastern Cabul-an.
The governor also announced that anytime this month, the provincial government will start distributing the rice assistance of the provincial
government to all families in Bohol, that will come with contact tracing cards. Each card has a QR code that will contain the data as to the places where the holder has gone to. The data will only be used to trace who were the individuals present in places at the same time with anyone that would test positive of Covid.
