Bureau of Customs expresses sympathy to family of slain exec

MANILA, Nov 18 (PNA) -- The Bureau of Customs (BoC) expressed sympathy to the family of slain Deputy Commissioner Arturo Lachica who was shot dead Thursday night in Manila.
"BOC is deeply saddened by this incident. Our condolences to his family and loved ones," the BoC said in its Twitter account.
Reports said Lachica was declared dead-on-arrival at United Doctors Medical Center after sustaining two gunshot wounds in the chest.
The official was headed home when a motorcycle-riding man fired at his black sedan around 6:50 p.m. along Espana Blvd., Manila.
The BoC assured cooperation with authorities on the investigation of the case.
"As per Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon, BOC will exert all efforts to cooperate with authorities in investigating this incident," it added. (PNA)
