The ax fell on two town chiefs of police for serious administrative lapses in the implementation of the campaign on illegal activities more especially on illegal gambling even as Bohol Provincial Director, PSSupt Constantino Barot, Jr. issued his stern warning to other PNP chiefs in the towns.
Barot ordered the relief of Corella Police Chief, PInsp. Raymundo Calaunan and Sikatuna Police Chief, PSInsp. Miguel Jimenez.
They will be detailed at the Bohol Provincial Police Office at Camp Dagohoy.
Both Corella and Sikatuna Police Stations will be under the command of their respective deputies as officers in charge - SPO2 Josue Longog for Corella and SPO4 Desiderio Baldisco for Sikatuna.
Barot said that these police stations were very loose in their implementation of police operations which affected the entire provincial police force which are under the perception of coddling illegal gambling operators.
Asked if this relief was the result of the PNP's much publicized "one strike policy", Barot told the Chronicle that this is "very close" to that specific policy. He did not elaborate.
Barot recently issued a strongly worded warning that he would go a step further to include not only police chiefs but intelligence officers and intelligence non-commissioned officers found to have slowed down on their operations against illegal gambling. - Bohol Chronicle
