A Sulpicio Lines vessel carrying 1,010 passengers bound for Tagbilaran City was stranded just about 300 meters from the city port since Friday noon.
Strong winds drove M/V Dipolog Princess off course until it got stuck on reaching a shallow portion at the Tagbilaran bay area around 12:15 pm Friday, according to the Bohol district coast guard.
All of the passengers had to be transferred to a Sulpicio Lines rescue ship starting yesterday morning as there was no sign that the stranded ferry could get off the shallow waters.
Earlier, three sickly passengers had to abandon the ship and were confined at the Ramiro Hospital.
According to Sulpicio Lines officials here, they will just have to wait when the tide rises before they will tow M/V Dipolog Princess. - -
