A team of eight divers resumed Wednesday morning their efforts to retrieve the bodies of the pilot and co-pilot who died along with Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo when the Piper Seneca plane they were riding crashed off Masbate last Saturday.
Major Gen. Eduardo Del Rosario, Southern Luzon Command chief, said the team resumed their retrieval operations at around 10 a.m. and is expected to have recovered the pilots' bodies this afternoon.
A halt was ordered on Tuesday's diving operations for Capt. Jessup Bahinting and Nepalese co-pilot Kshitiz Chand after a German volunteer diver, Danny Brumbach, 31, suffered a bout of decompression sickness after making a very rapid ascend Tuesday afternoon.
"He is now 95 percent recovered and that.. accident is what we generally term as decompression sickness," Del Rosario earlier said. - PNA
