SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga , Philippines  – President Aquino defended yesterday his decision to sign Republic Act 10175, but conceded the Cybercrime Prevention Act was imperfect and could be amended.

Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr., for his part, indicated that the House of Representatives would not agree to amending the new law when Congress reconvenes on Monday because “the law should be given a chance to work.”

Aquino said he was open to lowering the penalties for online libel but that the measure must be enforced soon, as authorities must have the legal means to prosecute people for Internet-related crimes.

As usual, our retard president don't accept criticisms which manifested a sign of a dictator.
Having a low self-esteem, he signed without thinking or can't held even in a plenaries.
The proposed amendment of the libel provision prompted minds of the people to be considered such a waste of taxpayer's money.
