Noynoy to Gloria Arroyo: No Reconciliation Without Justice
« on: June 30, 2010, 06:00:35 PM »
Newly-inducted President Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III declared on Wednesday that he would allow reconciliation with former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo only after clearing the allegations of anomalies and corruptions that marred the administration of his predecessor.

”To those who are talking about reconciliation, if they mean that they would like us to simply forget about the wrongs that they have committed in the past, we have this to say: there can be no reconciliation without justice,” Aquino said in his inaugural address at the Quirino Grandstand.

The statement of Aquino was greeted by loud cheers and chanting from an estimated 700,000 crowd who trooped at the sprawling grandstand to watch the historic event.

”Forgetting the wrongdoings, I’m sure it will be repeated,” Aquino said.

To prove his threat to go after the crooked officials of the government, Aquino has given new Department of Justice (DOJ) secretary Laila de Lima a marching order to prosecute those who spent people’s money for their own interest.

”Begin the process of providing true and complete justice for all,” Aquino told De Lima.

Aquino also announced that former Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. has accepted the challenge to lead the Truth Commission that would clarify the controversial issues like the botched ZTE-NBN deal and "Hello Garci" tapes.

”Those who committed wrongdoings to the people should face justice. We should not move on without punishing the culprits,” Aquino said.

Aquino promised to be an example of more than 90 million Filipino people in doing what is right in achieving the true progress that the people are longing for in the last administration.

”My goal in life is just simple: be honest to my parents and country as son with dignity, a good brother and good citizen,” he said.

”Our main objective is to do our best to uplift the nation from poverty through implementation of honest and good leadership in the government,” Aquino added.

Aquino dared those who remain honest in the government to continue their good service and excel in their respective field of works while stopping the corruption within the bureaucracy.

The new President also promised to look into the "midnight appointments" made by President Arroyo towards the end of her term.

”I hope it would serve as warning to those who are thinking to continue their crooked transactions that have become the part of life in the past,” Aquino said.

He also urged the contractors of the infrastructures he wanted to implement to be responsible enough to honestly implement the projects as stated in the contracts.

”We shall defeat the enemy by wielding the tools of justice, social reform and equitable governance leading to a better life,” Aquino said.

Aquino admitted that he cannot implement what he has promised all by himself, urging all the people to help him in bringing back the good governance towards a better nation.

”If you are behind me, we can push forward our country wherein there is equality because each of will perform our responsibility,” he said.

Romans 10:9-10
"If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
