Palace wishes Pacquiao, Donaire good luck

MANILA, Nov. 5 (PNA) – Malacanang on Saturday wished two Filipino boxers Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire good luck on their scheduled fights against two Mexican fighters on Sunday in Las Vegas.
â€We wish our boxers good luck. The whole nation is behind the two boxers cheering for the pride of the Philippines and praying for the win,†according to the Office of the Communications Secretary statement.
Pacquiao will enter the ring for the first since his election as senator last May 9 to challenge WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas at the Wynn Las Vegas.
On the other hand, Donaire will be facing Jessie Magdaleno one of the undercards of the Pacquiao-Vargas fight.
Despite being a challenger, Pacquiao is considered the top favorite against Vargas who lost only once in 28 fights with 10 stoppages.
Pacquiao, 37, is 10 years older compared to Vargas but the Filipino veteran is expected to lean on his vast experience highlighted by with 58-6-2, including 38 knockouts,
Donaire, a 33-year-old veteran with 37-3, 24KOs ring record, is up for big challenge against nine-year younger Magdaleno who remains undefeated in 23 fights with 17 knockouts. (PNA)
