Loboc Children’s Choir
wows US audiences
By JUNE S. BLANCO
BOHOLANOS and even non-Boholanos in the United States were all agog with –and could not have enough of – the performance of the Loboc Children’s Choir.
Carlos Cagaanan, president of the Confederation of Boholanos in the United States and Canada (CONBUSAC), the umbrella organization of the Boholano associations sent the following email to his member-organizations and friends on April 21:
Subject: Loboc Children's Choir
Dear Colleagues in the Boholano Community,
The Loboc Children's Choir held two concerts here in Washington State, one in Olympia hosted by the Filipino-Americans living there led by Mr Ruff Ignacio and the other one in the City of Renton, a suburb of Seattle, hosted by the Bohol Association.
They are just so good and unbelievable. I have not seen a children's choir as good as them. They are so adorable; they are angels coming direct from Bohol. We really are so proud of them. They gave us so much honor and raised to the hilt our nostalgia for our beloved Bohol.
Our congratulations go the kids and staff of the Loboc Children's Choir for a very magnificent performance, and to the Bohol Association of Washington State led by Pres Cora Lamourea and Vice-Pres Mely Cagaanan for providing all the necessary stuff to make a very successful and very well attended concert-musical.
We keep on praying that the Almighty will continue the shower of graces and blessings on the group in the forthcoming concert-musicals in the different places in North America.
Mabuhi ang Bol-anon, Mabuhi tang tanan!!!
Respectfully yours,
Carlos "Caloy" Cagaanan
Thank God the thrill – and the trill – do not end there. The choir is set to do another concert today at 4 p.m. West Coast time at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church at 1955 West Jefferson in Los Angeles, California, and in neighboring Orange, Long Beach and Riverside counties, too.
Dr. Anita Cal-Jackson wrote this reply to Caloy, and fanned it out to more Boholanos:
Our Dear Fellow-Bol-anon friends,
It’s our turn here in Southern CA to present with joy & pride, our national cultural heritage, the beautiful singing of the world-class Loboc Children’s Choir from our very own beloved Bohol province, who will share their angelic voices to the community in Los Angeles county & neighboring Orange, Long Beach & Riverside counties.
We, & their family hosts are looking forward tomorrow night to their arrival at the Ontario Airport!
Warm regards to all!
Ben & Anita
