Synopsis:At 4:00 am today, December 27, 2012, the center of Tropical Depression "QUINTA" was estimated based on all available data at 40 km Southwest of Coron, Palawan (11.7°N, 119.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph. It is forecast to move west at 17 kph. Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon.
Forecast:Occidental Mindoro and Northern Palawan including Calamian Group and Cuyo Island will experience rains with gusty winds. Bicol Region, Calabarzon, Marinduque, Romblon and Oriental Mindoro will have cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Visayas, Mindanao and the rest of Palawan will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers or thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience cloudy skies with light rains.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the rest of Luzon and coming from the northeast to east over Visayas and Mindanao. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
