Hold-ups in Tubigon and Inabanga

Four women were victimized in separate in hold up incidents in Tubigon and Inabanga town as the wave of criminalities rose after a brief spell.

In Tubigon town, three young women who have disembarked from an inter-island vessel fell prey to three suspects about 10 pm last Nov. 21.

The victims were identified as Ella Marie Nagal, 19, Jocelyn Tulang, 19, and Maria Liza Balaca, 23, all natives of Barangay Bayacabac, Maribojoc town.          

Initial reports revealed that the three had just disembarked from the MV Santiago from Cebu City and were walking towards the bus terminal when three still unidentified men accosted them.

The suspects who were armed with short firearms declared a hold-up and divested the victims of their cellular phones and handbags containing their clothes and important documents such as transcript of records, diploma and other papers needed for the processing of their applications for work opportunities in Cebu.

The suspects immediately fled the scene aboard a motorcycle.

An evening prior to the Tubigon incident, a woman was also held up by three young male suspects in Inabanga town.

The victim was identified as one Maria Eleanette Jumao-as, 39, married and a resident of Barangay Kagay-an.

Jumao-as was riding her motorcycle on her way home about 9:30 pm from her store in the public market.

She noticed three young males aged between 20 and 24 riding on a motorcycle following her along the national highway.

When she was near her house, the victim stopped her motorcycle but one of the suspects slapped her with his handgun while another grabbed her bag containing P20,000 in cash, checks worth P6,000, a 3310 Nokia mobile phone and other valuables.

Meanwhile, a former barangay captain was shot while he was on his way to Sagbayan from the Tubigon port.

The victim was identified as one Margarito Lanoy, 52, married and former barangay captain of Kabasakan, Sagbayan.

The victim was driving his motorcycle along Barangay Maca-as, Tubigon when three men riding on a motorcycle caught up with him.

Lanoy was shot about 10 minutes after the three young women from Maribojoc were held up at the Tubigon port.

The victim was brought to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment.

Investigators are still trying to determine if the same suspects were involved in the spate of robberies and frustrated murder.

Thanks for posting Mike.

Three incidents happened in almost the same time, the same art, it could be this is a modern art of livelihood supporting their needs (young criminals - probably they are involved in drugs scene).  It is sad.....but as known Bohol is growing/improving in positive sense and everyone wants to take his share by hook or by crook. Our Policemen and/or Officers-in-charge to this section must have to work more for this for peace and order. I feel sorry for the dead one, material things can be replaced but human life not. So, motorcycle is not safe to use, magbaktas na lang ...di na gjod hilabtan kay moingon was ikaplete ug trysikol.
