The tourist police team in
Panglao launched a manhunt against two motorcycle-riding men who robbed a trader from
Dauis while heading to Panglao to deliver fresh milk to resorts in barangay Tawala.
According to PO2 Elmer Lucrecia, the 56-year-old victim identified as Aritas Agarin was travelling along the secludedTapayan Roadin barangay Bolod on her Honda motorcycle heading to Amorita Resort to deliver fresh milk at around4:30 p.m.yesterday when the incident happened.
Lucrecia said they received a text message at4:40 p.m.yesterday informing about the incident and their chief immediately instructed them to proceed to the location described in the text message.
The victim, a resident of barangay Tinago in Dauis, narrated that she already noticed the suspects riding a gray-and-black Kawasaki Fury tailing her while still in the highway.
When she reached the less populated area alongTapayan Roadtowards barangay Tawala, the suspects side swept her, causing her to lose control of the wheels and fell on the road.
The back-rider, with face covered with cloth, immediately got off and took her bag she left in her motorcycle. The bag contained P200 cash and two cellphones.
The suspects immediately took a U-turn going back to the highway.
The victim could hardly describe the suspects because the one driving the get-away motorcycle was wearing a full-face helmet. She was, however, able to notice that the driver was of large build while the back-rider was slim.
She was saved by another motorist who passed by the area.
The victim, who sustained bruises and scratches, was rushed to the hospital and is now safe.
