Ex-convict Rapes Wife and Killed her Husband
« on: July 06, 2009, 08:22:00 PM »
An ex-convict may well be heading back to life behind bars after he was arrested for raping a housewife and killing her husband.
The suspect was identified as one Jose Mara Jr., 33. He was previously convicted of robbery.
Initial investigation conducted by the Dagohoy PNP revealed that the incident took place about 11 pm last June 30.
Mara was alleged to have entered the residence of one Benjie Motoc, 25, a resident of Barangay La Esperanza, Dagohoy town.
According to Insp. Cesar Cañete, Dagohoy PNP chief, Mara was alone when he carried out his assault on the couple.
The suspect was armed with a gun and a bolo during the midnight attack.
Mara raped the wife who was already preparing to rest for the night and was dressed in her sleeping clothes.
The irate husband was unable to restrain himself and tried to defend his wife against the suspect.
Mara however shot the victim and chased him and hacked him to death when he ran out of bullets.
Motoc’s lifeless body was recovered the day after the attack.
The wife, who was still in a state of shock, confirmed that the suspect succeeded in raping her.
Mara was able to flee after the attack and moved from one place to another to evade arrest.
The intensified manhunt for him however took its toll and he decided to turn himself in about 11:30 am last July 3.
Mara surrendered to authorities in Bunacan, Tubigon town through the barangay captain whom he knows.
The suspect was supposedly despondent after a break-up with his live-in partner.
He was detained at the Dagohoy PNP jail pending the filing of appropriate charges against him.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
