Even before rainy days, 230 dengue victims here (BOHOL)
Dengue fever which is known to spread during the rainy season has already victimized 230 patients in the province, from Jan to June this year, despite the dry spell.
Earlier, health authorities were surprised on how this dreaded disease has spread despite the absence of rains.
A check made by the Chronicle showed that even as early as January there were already 65 victims in various towns here.
The presence of stagnant water doubles the fear for high incidence of dengue fever.
As of June 8, fifteen patients were admitted at the Gov. Celestino Gallares Hospital.
Of the 15 patients, 3 are from this city, namely, Lovely Pelayo, 6 of Tamblot, Carl Carba, 5 of Remolador Ext., Maricar Saren, 12, Booy and Jec Harvey Olaivar, M. Torralba Street.
Other victims are Joniel Tango, 6, Rizal, Batuan; Jenefer Adame, 12, Pamilacan, Baclayon; Charis Penia, 3, Nuevabida, loon; Joanna Cloma, 10, Bacalingan, Lila; Harold Montesilanos, Baslay, Loon; Joselito Amang, 18, Upper Cabacnitan, Batuan; John Paul Limosnero, 8, Obgob, Sevilla; May-an Garcia, 13, San Jose Talibon; Felix Platino, 17, Lahasinda, Alicia; Rea Sasidan,6, Mantatao, Calape town.
