A lone motorcycle rider who was about to go home after a drag race met an accident along V.P. Inting Stree in barangay Mansasa, this city early morning yesterday.
The victim, identified as one Dennis Lajot, 25, a resident of B. Aquino Avenue, this city, came from a drag race which started at the Bool Junction to Baclayon town about 1:20 a.m. yesterday.
According to his fellow drag racers, Lajot was driving his Honda Wave motorcycle and was running at high speed when he suddenly swerved into a roadside canal near the Mansasa Chapel.
The victim rammed into a wall along the road and suffered serious injuries to his head and other parts of the body.
Lajot was rushed to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Regional Hospital but died an hour after.
Bohol PNP Director Edgardo Ingking has coordinated with the Tagbilaran Land Transportation Office (LTO) in apprehending drag racers here in the city which is the subject of complaints by residents.
