Town mayors in the province vowed to get seriously involve in the drive of regulating the "exportation" of rice to the neighboring province of Cebu.
This commitment of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) - Bohol was sealed during a meeting convened yesterday at the Governor's Mansion, this city by Gov. Erico Aumentado who is all out in his steps to ensure the stability of rice supply in the province.
"It is not curtailment, but just regulating the volume of shipped out rice," clarified the governor since the situation calls for a slowdown in the exportation otherwise the province will suffer scarcity of rice supply at the end of the year.
Jagna Mayor Exuperio Lloren signed in behalf of the town mayors in the memorandum of agreement which mandates that the local executives should help in the regulation of rice ship-out.
