Cooperatives and POs receive financial assistance

A TOTAL of P 872,000 worth of checks was distributed by the Provincial Government of Bohol under the leadership of Gov. Erico Aumentado through the Bohol Poverty Reduction Management Office (BPRMO) to 11 cooperatives and People’s Organization (PO) last October 26, 2006 in time of the opening program of the 1st Bohol Provincial Cooperative Congress at the Bohol Cultural Center.

The checks with amounts ranging from P 27,000 to P 100,000 were given to beneficiaries by Board Members Dionisio Balite, Felix Uy, Ma. Fe Lejos and Carisso Camacho with the BPRMO head Boy Pernia.

The beneficiaries were Cambagui Women’s Organization of Sevilla, San Vicente Farmer’s Association of Trinidad, Nueva Montaña People’s Organization of Buenavista, Borromeo Estate Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and Hagbuaya Multi-Purpose Cooperative both from Catigbian, Untaga Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Alicia, San Jose Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Trinidad, Toril Multi-Purpose Cooperative and Basacdaku Muliti-Purpose Cooperative both from Albur, Cambane Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Candijay and PUMAS-Kauswagan of Trinidad.

This financial assistance which is set to support the livelihood programs of the respective cooperatives and POs is part of the poverty reduction initiatives which is the primary thrust of the provincial government.(Jhaz/PGMA)
