9 illegal fishers nabbed in 2 Bohol towns

Seven suspected dynamite fishers and two others were apprehended last Saturday in separate operations against illegal fishing under Oplan Kalikasan from the towns of Candijay and Alburquerque.
CANDIJAY.- A joint police-bantay dagat seaborne patrol intercepted a pumpbot from Ubay with seven persons on board on suspicion of fishing with the use of high explosives in the seawaters of Tagaytay of this town early Saturday afternoon.
The seaborne patrol led by SPO2 Mansueto Exclamador, however, failed to confiscate any explosive from the suspects identified as Edwin Cabalan, Roberto Timario, Dominador Piquero, Larry Daigan, Christopher Vallentos, Amada Evangelista and Rene Byore, all from Tintinan, Ubay. Among the items seized included an air compressor with three hoses and other fishing paraphernalias.
ALBURQUERQUE. SPO4 Ignacio Tungol together with Kagawad Victor Balo intercepted two fishermen using electric shinners in the territorial seawaters of this town early dawn Saturday.
Those arrested and subsequently fined for violation of an existing municipal ordinance were identified as Alberto Provencia, 42, of Totolan, Dauis, and one Teofilo Deliso, 42, of Guindulman.
