The Dragons of the Bohol Wisdom School notched game 1 of their respective best of three championship series of the ongoing 18th Bohol Schools Amateur Athletic Association 4th John Geesnell Baba Yap inter – School Hoop Cup Saturday a the BWS gym.

The Golden Dragons, having an edge in championship derby exposure having played in many championship series of the past, subdued archrival Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School Cyclones, 81 – 77, making use of this advantage to the hilt to survive when things went rough and tough through pressures.

The wards of coach Jun Fulgarillas hardly fought the Golden Dragons as Jemark Jabajab was full of arsenals firing them with accurate precisions which enabled the Cyclones to inch in closer, 20-21 at the expiration of time of the 1st period.

Exchanges of firepower ensued which resulted into a seesaw battle midway in the succeeding canto as long tom artist Sherwin Boiser, seldom used Argie Israel, and CJ Galido matched the ammunitions of Jerry Carcallas, Jason Compehos, Sonny Barrios and Jabajab which ended up with the Golden Dragons holding a hairline lead at 39-38 count at lemon time.

Robin Findley and Felix Hinay struggled harder to counter the bombs of the run and gun game of the Holy Spirit School mini Crusaders to the mini Dragons a point behind, 10-9 as the time runs out to end the 1st canto.

But Randy Taer, George Lim, Leo Pantollana, and Findley connived to put up a 6 – 0 run to mark a formidable 2nd quarter assault to put the mini Dragons in the driver' seat, 23 – 16 at the termination of the regulation time in the first half.

Both teams were in the thick of the fight as neither team could make a runaway as they tightened their defensive thrust and made even their offense getting retaliations and counter retaliations by either team to tie the score 57 all as the buzzer sounded signaling the end of the period.

Both teams struggled trying to get through their leech like guarding and tight defensive tactics.  Banging of bodies as physical game ensued in the final period.
It was a tied ballgame with a few ticks to go, when the cool and calculating Boiser found daylight on a fast break to give the Golden Dragons back the lead by 2 points, 79 – 77.
Then the most improved Alaba poured in his last basket of the game to nail the final count at 81-77.

Findley ran amok defying all oppositions assigned to him to lead the mini Dragons to a 51-47 win.

Game 2 will be played Saturday, January 12 at 8 A.M. at the BWS gym: 1st Game: BWS mini v. HSS mini 2nd Game: BWS Golden Dragons v. DCPNHS Cyclones

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
