Please add your short reason.

Considered that most formulas for computation were discovered by ancient people.

OoO

Nice thread, Datz.

Ancient: Phoenicians, Sassamids, Etruscan-Roman, Hellenistic Greece, Qing Dynasty China, Chandra Gupta Maurya Empire (Of Indra/India), Judean Kingdoms

Early Modern:
Hapsburg Dynasty, Romanov Dynasty, Imperial Spain, English, Papal States, Islamic Caliphate, Ming Dynasty China, Mogul Empire (India)

Present Epoch:
The United States, The United Kingdom of Great Britain, Germany, Italy, PRC, India, France

My point:
Each epoch has its own influential power states. One needs to examine this in chronological retrospect; the proper historical analysis. That is why we emulsify and segregate time epochs according to age, culture, and reason.

So one can infer intra-epocheal analysis.

Cheers,

One of the mistakes commited by historians is the comparison of historical epochs, and worst is judging them based on present criteria.

We cannot simply compare the ancient and the modern civilization precisely because the current civilization is a product of years and centuries of development stemming out from the ancient era.

Yup.

Each epoch should be studied and admired according to its own facets. Including limitations, successes.

Because in the end, looking at it macroscopically, that is what history is all about.

The study of the progress of Human Civilization through span of the years.

Each failure, each success, wars, debates, assinations, elections, revolutions, etc. is what makes and defines the multifactorial nature of Human Kind.

And our beautiful history. That is what makes it worthy to be studied.

I’m curious about these two civilizations, were these documented that there are two kind of civilizations?, so that we can assure that this civilization where we are present is belong to modern civilization or just only assuming.

Also, I would like to know when the ancient civilization was ended and when the modern civilization was started because I heard from many people who said that we are now in modern civilization.

And, when will be the civilization next to modern civilization?, if ever it has.

Even so, historical research and many historians do compare ancient civilizations to classical, contemporary, to modern.

Depends on the writer, the historian, and of course the reader.

Everyone has varying opinions.

Datu, you know whats intesting?

During the dark ages, many writers and contemporaries wished they were back in the classical age. :)

Interesting no?
