I think the municipalities of

-Ubay
-Talibon
-Tubigon
-Jagna

can be cities in the next few years.. dako pud ilang economy.it will take panglao to become a city pa jud kay wala na silay kuwarta though tourism place siya.

udtohan

udtohan

ANG SB maghimo og resolution requesting the House of Representatives, Congress of the Philippines for the conversion of the Municipality of Ubay/TUbigon/Talibon/Jagna into a Component City.

The municipality of Ubay/TUbigon/Talibon/Jagna should satisfactorily met the basic requirements for its conversion into Cityhood pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Code 1991.

There should be a certification issued by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, the average annual income of Ubay/TUbigon/Talibon/Jagna should be a constant prices of P 44 million something.

Further, there's a certification by the Land Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the land area of Ubay/TUbigon/Talibon/Jagna should be a minimum of 10,000 hectares.

There should be a plebiscite, too to oversee the election by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Once the town is officially proclaimed by the Comelec officials as a city and its full corporate existence comes into being, she said their IRA of only P30 million per year will now be pegged at P100 million per year.

sus nindota kung madayon para dili na ma crowded pag-ayo ang tagbilaran, ma disciminate na pag-ayo ang mga taw like the locals and tourists.

Talibon is the most likely candidate for cityhood, being the only 1st Class Municipality in Bohol.
Here's the latest clasification:
FIRST CLASS        :   TALIBON
SECOND CLASS     :   CARMEN & UBAY
THIRD CLASS        :   INABANGGA; LOON; TUBIGON
FOURTH & FIFTH CLASS :  ALL OTHER TOWNS.

Panglao is only FOURTH CLASS;
Jagna is also FOURTH CLASS;

Scott

TALIBON is a hands down winner.

Meanwhile, Tubigon's high traffic (though transit in mode, as gateway to other towns)  and it's proximity to Cebu comes close after Carmen and Ubay.

Panglao to be the next city is a wishful thinking within the next 5 years. Unless of course the much talked-about airport is operational and in full blast.

So there. My five cents.
I grew up in this town, my poetry was born between the hill and the river, it took its voice from the rain, and like the timber, it steeped itself in the forests.--Pablo Neruda

All municipalities in the Philippines are given class ratings by the Department of Finance based on the municipality's income.

The last time I know, Tagbilaran City is a second class city.  Has it changed yet?

Tagbilaran has never been a second class city yet.  So far THIRD CLASS pa lang. Here's the list from the NSCB.
