"Daddy, how much do you make an hour?"

With a timid voice and idolizing eyes, the little boy greeted his father as he returned from work.

Greatly surprised, but giving his boy a glaring look, the father said: "Look, sonny, not even your mother knows that. Don't bother me now, I'm tired."

"But Daddy, just tell me please! How much do you make an hour, " the boy insisted. The father, finally giving up, replied: "Twenty dollars per hour."

"Okay, Daddy. Could you loan me ten dollars?" the boy asked.

Showing his restlessness and positively disturbed, the father yelled: "So that was the reason you asked how much I earn, right?Go to sleep and don't bother me anymore!"

It was already dark and the father was meditating on what he said and was feeling guilty. Maybe he thought , his son wanted to buy something. Finally, trying to ease his mind, the father went to his son's room.

"Are you asleep, son?" asked the father.

"No, Daddy. Why?" replied the boy, partially asleep.

"Here's the money asked for earlier, " the father said.

"Thanks, Daddy!" rejoiced the son, while putting his hand under his pillow and removing some money.

"Now I have enough! Now I have twenty dollars!" the boy said to his father, who was gazing at his son, confused at what his son had just said. "Daddy, could I buy you for an hour?"

You know what i do when i have a headache? Try apply some vicks vapor rub on the temples of your head and a little on your forehead.

That or take tylenol (generic brand over there is paracetamol).

Thanks Bran. Nagpa head massage na lang ko para mawala gyud ang sakit. 2 paracetamols aren't enough to ease the pain.

I just got home. Ang horas diri ay 12:03 AM. I just got home, Jen, was at work from 8:00 AM till 11 PM. Kuan to karon 12 hour shift pero i stayed an extra 3 hours pod. He he he, gutom ko kai wa ko kakaon sa dinner. Mag luto ko karon unya, probably grilled manok. Off ko ugma so lipay po ko kai maka relax ko ugma. Ikaw? Diba nag bakasyon ka ron?

Thanks Bran. Nope, I'm not on vacation. Wala man intawon vacation sa among work (except on holidays) Nagtransfer lang ko ug work, from City Division to Provincial Division tapos Planning Unit na lang ko dili na sa Supervisor's office (Promotional Staff). Dalikyat lang ko dokdok dire kay usahay malibat nako tinan-aw aning mga numbers. Pero since holiday dire sa Pinas karong Aug. 20 & 21, taas - taas gyud akong time pahulay ani..

I know that there are times in life that we come to disagree with our loved ones, even friends. The bible verse from 2nd Corinthians talks about the importance of making peace. So let us make peace within ourselves today and also with those around us. And even those who we have discord with. Actually, related siya kay according to them, If you have LOVE of GOD and those six other core values, dili gyud ka kapangurakot... True gyud pero kung kana na lang ang topic for the whole 2 day seminar, maka-disappoint gyud kay ang seminar is about Anti-Graft and Corruption.. I expect i-tackle gyud nila ug taman tong mga Republic Acts related to Graft and Corruption.. Sige lang, gibawi man pod sa mga speakers nga very nice, very approachable and very lively kaayo magtalk..

Enjoying my weekend at home -- here in New Jersey. I flew back home on Thursday evening and arrived home Friday morning. It's good to be with family. I cooked for my mom, dad, and my younger brothers. Cooked shrimps, adobo, and sinigang isda. Spending some time with them before flying back to Chicago tomorrow afternoon.

God is so Good.

I want to help her again so I was thinking of buying her ukay ukay clothes pero naunhan ko sa tindera sa ukay-ukayan kay ni offer siya.. but she was totally ignored by this woman.. she continued walking (i was walking behind her about 5 meters away kay lagi mopalit ko ug call card) i want to know what she's thinking while people were laughing at her seeing her naked, children teases her..i want to know, unsa iyang gihunahuna...... then i saw her going to church pero sa gate pa lang daan, gisita na siya sa caretaker...nibalik siya sa iyang agi ug nipasilong, naglingkod sa usa ka waiting shed nga tapad ra pod sa simbahan...samtang ako, nisakay na ug pedicab pabalik sa opis...

fine i guess, thanks. at least i came back home in one piece. the usual terrible road trip in manila, you know; got stuck in a traffic jam for awhile. and there was some rain.

frisky the cat is a pity. she'll be on antibiotics for 10 days. imagine grappling with her twice daily just to make her swallow the medicine and keep her from licking her surgical wound. she's doing fine, fortunately.

what a gripping story, lolla. from the looks of it, it was grief and hunger that did her in. pagkalooy intawon. barato ra ra ba unta ang tambal aning nalisoan tungod sa pasmo. hinaot unta nga masikop na siya sa dswd aron di na hilabtan ug di na madisgrasya. we can only pray and wish her well.

I just got back from driving around to drop off some material at the clinic. Stopped by Subway to have lunch. Now back doing paper work and prepping for the evening material.

just fine, thanks lorenz. unlike you who's on an exciting time of life (creating a career, pursuing a degree), mine i can say is already made, and that's staying at home. it has its moments, but when i start feeling some bodily pain here and there, i simply tell myself that gone are the days when i can run more than a kilometer in high heels because there's trouble in the streets during a coup d'etat.

isles, the beauty that i have learned from you-- and i've learned a lot from you from interacting with you these some 3 years -- is the inspiration i have gotten from your merciful nature to those who cannot help themselves. i can remember the times when i would sit back and read tb , some passage you would share with us on the kind of animals you saved in manila, your experiences with vaccinating your cats, and your dogs, adopting cats, dogs, helping that one homeless person in manila whose pet was named puppy. tell you the truth, i cried when i read your postings on how you were affected by the disappearance of that dog named puppy. sakitan pod ahoang dughan. its quite beautiful, isles, to know that in the end and in the greater scheme of things, how we help those around us and share and perform acts of mercies -- is what really counts. it is the epitome of the act of charity, to which we all are called to. for we are all told, "be perferct like your Father who is perfect.." (matthew 5:48).

you make me smile, isles. just to let you know.

ps. there is nothing special about what i do. i day dream at work ..and think about joining the priesthood. i admit that. that's our little secret here in tb. i have not told my parents this.

i'm sorry to hear that, jen. i empathize for you kai that had happened to me one time where i had 8 pages typed up. my computer decided to freeze on me and i had to reboot. then to find out that out of the 8 pages i wrote...yataps! only 2 were retrieved. hang on there, jen.
