Today is the start of our enrolment for school year 2009-2010.







Education is a never- ending struggle in life.

Just came back from class; completed our core review for inflammation and regeneration for pathology. Pharmacology was amazing--yet intense. Trying to memorize 120+ drug brands, its effects, mechanism of action, rate limiting enzymes, all for our upcoming exam. And the drug names is just the last chapter for 8 chapters worth of info. yikes!

Relaxing right now. Out for review session later tonight.

I woke up an hour ago and felt really hungry... So I changed it up and cooked country fried potatoes with scrambled tofu. I found a croissant that I got yesterday to complete my breakfast.

Right now you are in your latter part of the 3rd semester, make sure you evade in unecessary physical activity right now. You need to rest, drink and eat. Don't put stress to yourself because the baby feels what the mother feels. I'm praying that all goes well with you, and remember---trust whatever the OB/GYN tells your regarding emergency surgical procedure--if it is necessary--it is for the good of mother and child.

Please, Please, Please, don't work so much anymore. You need to rest, and relax. Eat properly, and if you feel that the pain in around your lower extremity is unbearable, do ask your husband to drive you to the clinic.

Do take care of yourself, and most of all for the little baby thats still growing. You're in my prayers, Raquel.

I'm in my 31 weeks of pregnancy.I really need to slow down. Na strain sad ni akong ankle 3 weeks ago kay nahug ko sa gamay nga canal unya inay kay naayo na mao to nabanggaan ko gahapon sa among dakong iro. Good thing naa koy daghan help diri nag care sa mga bata ug akong mother inlaw nagsegi ug care sa akong garden ug mga kids sad.

Right now Raquel your baby is reaching its growth peak in intrauterine life. You will probably notice that you have an increased urinary urgency. The reason for this is because baby's increased girth and size has placed tension on your renal system; particularly the urinary bladder. This stimuli sends afferent signals to your limbic system to release the tension and release urine.

In this culminating peak of life, your child has already reached apex growth intrauterine. All the air, food, and Immunoglobulins baby has come straight from you, through diffusion through the umbilical cord or through membranous diffusion of enzymes and hormones from mother to child.

The child's complete maturation prior to partition requires your body to rest, and to maintain homeostasis with ample amounts of nutrition--per se food. If mom is stressed--baby will be stressed. If mom is relaxed, baby will be relaxed. If mom laughs alot, baby will roll around and kick.

I remember when my mom was pregnant with Andre back in 1998. Mom would lay in our bed and read Bearnestein bears books and bible passages to Andre. And my sister and I would watch--observing that Andre was kicking and listening to mommy's voice.



it makes kids smart. Andre right now---is a very good reader---academically. I think it was because my mom always read to Andre when she was pregnant with him. That or the smart genes lol.

Today  a MAD DAY!  I was at the Church's kitchen for our Feed The  busy preparing for the dinner when a friend from way back when and this to say to me:  "SURPRISE, we are on our way to visit you.  In two hours, we will be there."  I told them I won't be home until about 7 p.m. and so they say, okay.  I hurried home after feeding the needy, just got done cooking paella, vege, chicken and fish, and it's past 8 p.m. they are not here yet.

Hello, Dong!  I was glad to meet again my lost lost friends.  It was just a mad day but it ended such a fun-filled night.

Oh, and the lightning and thunder is so scary here!  I have never ever experienced like this here in California.  Non stop jud ang lightning and thunder and heavy rain!  Talk about crazy weather but we are still thankful because California needs more water!

Pharmacology. Did hospital vistations from 10am till 11:30am.

On break right now. Back to class by 1pm.

I finished Psychiatric Medical Exam today. It wasn't too bad.
Studying for Psychiatric Behavioral Science was pretty interesting.
I admit, I would be open to Psychiatry as a specialty---its interesting.


Na interested lang ko sa psychoanalysis techniques gi teach mi sa professor.
To observe and analyze an individual by their shear mannerisms, method of speech etc.

Right now, drinking tea. Typing notes / and taking a TB break. hehe

Went to Hospital sa Radiology Dept and they do Ultrasound on my Gall Bladder,Liver and Pancreas. Good thing dili diay ma remove siguro akong gall bladder kay wala man daw gall bladder stone gi ask nako ang nagperform sa akong ultrasound but sa Tuesday pa daw mabal an ang result kay busy daw sa E.R ang mga doctor ug specialist kung weekend. I hope for the best. My husband upon learning from me I had no gall stone joke that it maybe all in my head.He said I read to much medical stuff that I am maybe  hypercondriac. I think sometimes he maybe right. Bitaw kadaghan naman gud ko adto adto magpacheck up like ga pacheck ko akong heart abi nako naa koy heart disease unya ok ra diay ko,then we even rush ourself sa hospital kay abi nako naa koy swine flu hahaha then ok ra pud ko,giingnan pa ko sa nurse you don't look sick at all.

Raquel, am glad to hear that they didnt' find anything wrong. I am very happy and proud of you how you are so very concrete in your medical situation and your tenacity to check everything out. Amen, sister! That is how we should all be like.

sympatholytic drugs ( alpha blockers, beta blockers)
angiontensin converting enzyme inhibitors
calcium channel blockers
vasodilators

Go Acetebutelol and Carvedilol!
Mixed alpha and beta blockers!
Good for pregnant women with mild to moderate HTN, and people with cocaine-induced HTN
Good for African/Black patients as well. (genetic racial predisposition).


Remember Prazosin is drug of choice for pts with dyslipidemia, and prostatic hyperplasia.
