Weight Loss: Project Health
« on: March 03, 2009, 06:56:42 AM »
This is the official weight loss thread, in here, lol. So a group of us guys (fellow med student colleagues of mine) have been enrolled at the local Gym and so far, we've been doing upper body/lower body work out (weight lifting) and thoracic work out.

We joked around in anatomy lab as we dissected the heart, but when we opened the pericardium, we saw the atherosclerotic fibrofatty plaque accumulating in the endothelium.

Since them, we (we'are also a study group, hahaha) have been working out every Mon, Wed, Frid and on Sundays. For about an hour and a half per day. Not too bad, and ive noticed that its also a stress reliever.

So this is an open invitation for those who are also looking to loose weight and have had trouble inspiring yourself to go out and work out. We can do this together.

The goal here is to chart what we've done, how much we've lost and the physical results. We can do this on a weekly report system.

Feel free to post pictures of the results thus far, muscle mass accumulation etc.

Why? Because it is good for our Health!

At my age 58 ( I´m also short 5´2), I try to maintain my weight between 51-52 by eating less but quality foods. I simply take a walk 15 minutes everyday ( a rosary is my time-keeper). That´s all.

Update ra ni, so far I've liked the results. Ive increased my work out schedule and repetitions. I'm now benching at 215lbs, and squatting at 250lbs with leg reps.

Weight lifting 3 days a week and cardio work out 2 days a week. Alternating.

As of March 20, 2009:

more to do.

I've never heard of that, but I am training with other medical students; im part of a sparring group. I have a spar partner when we go to the gym; the goal is to increase upper body tone and tone the lower body as well as firm the abdominopelvic region.

Our goal is to hit a 25-27 bmi by August-September.

Thanks for the heads up tho, Raquel. Will def. keep this into consideration. ;)
