The Day I Became A Catholic
« on: November 14, 2012, 07:20:52 PM »
My dad is a Muslim so he practices Islam and my mom is a Catholic. When I was born in 1975 in Jolo, I was baptized as a Muslim. My mom never said anything. She was obligated to follow my dad's wishes. When I turned 5 years old, my dad became a seaman so we moved out of Jolo to live in Bohol. I studied in HSS. When I was 6 years old, I became very ill because of dengue. As a matter of fact, the doctors already gave up. I was dying. They were just waiting for me to give up for I was so weak and ready to die. My mom was crying and decided that if it is God's will that He will take me away from her, then it is time for me to be baptized as a Catholic against my dad's wishes (he didn't know about it since he was a seaman). After baptism, Anointing of the Sick followed.
After an hour, I was healed miraculously. Even the doctors could not explain what happened. I was alive again.
When my dad found out what happened, he pulled us out of Bohol in january 1981, and took us back to Jolo. Although he cannot undo what my mom did, but our life became a living hell after that.... until my mom finally realized in 1997 that she has to stop this hell here on earth ....
