“OUR SUCCESS IS OUR REVENGE”
Multi-awarded filmmaker Atty. Vince Tañada is advising actor Johnrey Rivas to ignore persons who don’t appreciate the success that he is enjoying after the latter shared a ‘feeling sarcastic’ message to unnamed individuals who seemingly wants to pull him down.
Tañada was reacting to Rivas’ Facebook post on February 15, 2023 where he bared his grievances:
"Don't give them the access to hurt you." Ganyan talaga nagagawa ng mga taong Inggit sa pag angat mo. Gumagawa sila ng mga bagay at usapan para masaktan ka, Sabagay inisip nila na mas magaling at matalino sila sayo, kaya pinagtataka nila, Ba't ikaw ang nandiyan. Kaya ayun sinisiraan ka,” said Rivas.
“Isa lang masasabi ko, Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit ko nararanasan lahat ng meron ako ngayon. Pero isa lang ang maipagyayabang ko- "Mag harap harap tayo, Pagkatao sa pagkatao, Mata sa mata. Suntukan ng pag uugali at sampalan ng Talento. Hindi kita aatrasan, Ipagdarasal ko pa kayo,” he said. “Tandaan: Ang paghihiganti lalong lalo na kung walang basehan at hindi para sa kabutihan, Walang patutunguhan.”
Rivas’ posts elicited various comments of support from the online community and fellow artists including his mentor Tañada, who said under the comment section: “Our success is our revenge. Wag ng pansinin.”
Rivas is set to star in Tañada’s upcoming musical film ‘Ako Si Ninoy’ which depicts the life story of former Senator Ninoy Aquino portrayed by actor/singer JK Labajo.
Prior to ASN, Rivas also appeared in Tañada’s Martial Law musical movie ‘Katips’ where the former won a best supporting actor award and the latter bagged the best picture, best director and best actor awards during the 70th annual awards of The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) in August 2022.
