from some other angle, my shy cat looks as if he's wearing bangs.  the usual dark hair on the forehead common to most cats looks like it was cut straight across his forehead in his case, like a little girl's.

this is one cat i chose to keep instead of giving him to some other home somewhere else because of his extreme shyness.

far from it.  i wouldn't want felix to touch a rat, especially if he snuggles up to me soon after.  he deserves the title 'the great' as your wilhelm deserves the title of 'kaiser'.

estimated 10 months old.  when i picked him up last february, i presumed he was no more than 6 weeks old.  he was weak and sick and still incapable of eating by himself, i had to force feed him with a formula of egg yolk, milk, and cooking oil.  he made it!

wa tawon no?  for your info, formula kana given by a vet specifically for kittens orphaned or abandoned too early by their mothers and who still do not know how to eat by themselves.  felixander happens to be the 9th kitten i've saved that way all these years.  (3 had died .) 

knock on my door, bai hubs, and i can administer the same formula to you, with the same process; tingalon ta ka by squirting the formula inside your mouth using a syringe without a needle, hahaha!  angayan gyod ka, sure gyod ko.

all in a day's volunteer work at the cat shelter

job details:  1)  playing with rescued kittens and cats to prepare them for adoption and homing
                 2)  cleaning the shelter twice a week

during our scheduled house blessing at the end of the month, i will ask the priest (a close friend) who will bless the rooms and sprinkle them with holy water to also do the same to our dogs, cats, and birds.  it won't be strange.  in spain, there's a town whose bishop and priests bless and sprinkle with holy water all the pigs lined up at church on st. isidore's feastday.  besides, if inanimate things like wedding rings and rooms are blessed, why not live animals?

before it started to get so cold here, we trapped Mocha Jr.  He or she is now being "tamed" as she/he is considered a wild cat.  Mocha Jr.  looks exactly like my beloved old Mocha but this one is feisty.  Mocha Jr. doesn't meow at all, just growl.

today, we got another cutie cat with a very striking orange color.  she is so scared right now but she should be okay soon.  i will post pictures of my two cutie cats soon.

something tragicomic happened yesterday.

the efficient house painter who wanted to do something in his vacant time while waiting for the foreman decided to paint the first coating of latex on our cat room walls.  he didn't coordinate with anyone, much less with me, so he didn't know that once the painting work and tiling are done to the cat room, all the cats will have to be transferred to the living room. 

the painter was shaking when he reported that our two orange cats now had painted bodies.  melchor had it worse; his ears had stiffened with latex.  it turned out that he rolled on the paint pan and played with the brush.  my stomach gnarled despite the painter's apologies and assurances that latex is not poisonous.

it took 2 hours to clean melchor and midnight and dawn visits to the cat room to check for any changes in his overall health.  i geared up for an emergency.  he's all right, whew, but my stomach is still tight with pain.

thanks, ms. isle.  do you experience with wild cats?  my mocha jr. is so unfriendly and so standoffish.  when we brought home the second kitty, we put her in cage close to mocha jr. but he/she wouldn't even look.  mura ba'g wa'y nakita.  as for the little kitty, she is doing fine and meows a lot.  my husband said i couldn't complain anymore because this new kitten will meow for mocha jr.

Quel, I am excited na pod na i free na ang new kitty.  Si Mocha Jr. mura'g taud-taud pa ning ikulong kay ihaw kaayo na iding but I will be patient to nurture him/her just because he/she looks almost exactly like my old Mocha.

Botoyitot is an outdoor cat, although he keeps to the terrace most of the time. Ako lang ni siyang pasudlon sa balay proper kon naa ko, kay hadlok kong naay mangabuak (wine glasses are everywhere, he he).

My other kitty, Kitty Kitkat.  We got her on Monday.  There's hope to this cat unlike Mocha, Jr. who is so snobbish.  But it's unfair to compare Mocha, Jr. to Kitty Kitkat.  Kitkat is not "wild" like Mocha, Jr.

Si Kitkat kay cool ra kaayo mura siya sa iring sa akong brother inlaw nga si Elvies heheheh. Very Content and happy cat.

Gusto ehatag sa akong silingan neng iya iro.  Mag elis iyang sexy na asawa kusog kono mo totok ...

viva, mocha jr and kitty kitkat!  truly glad that they have a home now. 

p.s. i would like to imagine that mocha jr still has to get used to the idea that humans are kind.  when he (his face looks like a 'he', though i'm not really sure) gets wind of that, he will give back in kind by acting familiar and even sweet.

aherm.  one of my cats is named felixander the great, one of my dogs is named filibusterismo.  more than a decade ago, our dogs were named nat, king and cole (nat was cross-eyed.  the three are now in dog heaven. )
