How will you feel when your X, whom you've never seen for two years-because-you-chose-your-family, the x whom you've never have contact with for more than a year, the x who use to hate you so much cause you-just-wanted-a-new-life-so-you-ended-it-and-you-were-able-to-move-on-in-a-snap-while-he-was-the-one-left-with-a-pained-face-for-months (ang haba!),.. Suddenly shows up on a typical college girlfriend's night-out? And then you realize that he is still wearing the exact scent that melts you way back. The almost like-your-kryptonite-scent... curious eh?
Funny. Weird. Exciting. Even more so when our very first song was played by the acoustic band... i stole a glance at him, he was smiling, smiling like the "i-know-your-secret" smile. I tried not to smile but you could just imagine the heart pulse I was having. Thug-dug-thug-dug. And then I received this text message from "the new guy". "I’m here in the bar, were you at?" so here comes the new guy. All girlfriends fondly greets him, I stole another glance at him, the smile faded. And on and on the first-theme-lovesong played in the background... (Woohoo hold me now...wohoo.warm my heart, stay with meeeeee let luvin start ,,let luvin start...wohoo)
Grand slam? New guy stands up and shakes his hand. "bai" (new guy was totally clueless) I swear! I cannot count the teasing, surprised eye contacts from my girlfriends. For all I know, I'm sure X thought new guy and I were dating.
Then new guy had to go to an errand, so I was left with girlfriends and X again. And here is this drunk girlfriend trying to be Ms. Kris Aquino asking questions like how, why, when, what for, did we split up? Omg. I was tongue-tied. I was like, I'll-get-you-later stare. Her words are still fresh "Just because of that? You split up?" Haishht! I immediately uttered "I need to go to the cr". Thank you girlfriend for putting me in a very tight spot.
I still had work by 6am and I haven't slept from my 6-3pm shift yet, thanks to gift hunting season. Eyelids were so heavy, a toothpick stand could've been appreciated. We had to go. Workplace was on his way so we rode a taxi together. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep.
Palpitation. Goosebumps. Ugh! So this is how it feels. And oh, I was not asleep. I felt his kiss on my hair. I felt how he smelled my hair. I felt how he tried to hold my hand. So okay, as an apology for what I did, go. I was enjoying myself smelling his perfume anyway.
