Genealogy Thread
« on: February 29, 2008, 11:18:51 AM »
This thread is for the purposes of contacting and finding some long-lost relatives in and outside of Bohol.

For those interested in tracking down relatives with similar surnames, maiden names, adoption-oriented status, etc.

Through History, one can find his or her future. Without it, we have no path.

I have relation to the TAN in my maternal side.

My mother's mom, my grandmother was a Chinese woman. Of the surname 'Tan'. My great grandfather, had a Chinese name: Tan Ngai Feiyi. Upon his arrival to the Philippines in the early 20th century, he took up 'Mariano Tan' as his name. From what my mom tells me, Lolo Mariano also had another brother who came with him to Visayas. His older brother went and settled in Cebu; whereas Lolo Mariano settled in Valencia, Bohol.

I also have relatives in Guangzhou, China. As my great grandfather used to take my Lola and her siblings back to China from time to time. My grand uncle, Mr. Cecilio Tan, was educated in China and stayed there.

Please feel free to contact me:

[email protected]

Best,
Bran Lorenzo

Perezkelly,

Do you have any information of the following families:

Ingnalan
Salise
Salvo
Torrero
Ebuenga
Tadlip

I would truly appreciate it.

I would have asked if you had information on the Lucinos, but the Lucino Clan are not native to Bohol.
We are native to Southern Leyte and Samar. Of the Warai heartland. ;)

Currently I am working on Tayabas family tree in honor of my late Grandmother Rosalia Tayabas.Maybe I wanna share the poem I intended to put on very first page of my genealogy book for Tayabas clan.Tell me what you think mga sano ug sana...
The Story Of Life

The Gift of life a precious gift
We mortals take for granted
And those Dear ones we love so much
In our memories are implanted.

So we pass our memories down
To those we leave behind
And tell them of our earthly love
For those who’ve been so kind.

We think of those before us,
As we’re strolling down life’s lane
A drop of blood from each of them
Flows warmly through our veins.

Oh yes! Like us they made mistakes
Sometimes deliberately.
Once they were young and human,
Just like you and me.

While wandering through the lives of those
From whom we were begotten,
Our own life story comes to mind,
Lest we too, be forgotten.

And when our lives are over
Our times on earth is served
May our lives be remembered
Our memories be preserved.

Arriving at the Pearly Gates
The Good Lord shows us in.
And then He turn to us and says.
“Please meet your early kin.”

Do we lower our eyes and drop our heads,
And say to him in shame,
“I’m sorry sir, in my mortal life,
I never heard your name.”

But no! We’ll raise our chain up high
To meet his steady gaze.
And say, Oh yes! I know you,
From your earthly days.”

Someone wrote the story
Of how you live your life.
Of happiness and joy,
And yes, sometimes of strife.

May the story of life continue
Of the older one so wise
As descendants arrive in heaven
Our names they’ll recognize.
