Ang Yuta Sa Ahong Gi Tawhanan.~
(Cebuano Version)

by: Albrando Lorenzo Salvo Lucino Jr., 2nd Year Medical Student.

Gusto ko maka tabang nila kai ma sakit man ahong dughan

Pure Bisaya. Pure PILIPINO.

{English Translation}

-The Land Of My Birth

I have remembered thee since the days of youth
I see you in the faces of my grandparents, in the ancestral line of my root
And I cry for thee
For I was engrossed in thy goodness and thy parentage throughout my yesteryears.

And Now,
Now that I am older.
I have seen the people in my beloved Fatherland.
Fellow brethren that have no property, no roof to call home, and not a penny in their pockets
And I have seen their tears and heard their cries.

And I shall answer their cries.
In my heart I want to return to my ancestral fatherland
For I want to offer my hand to their need, as my heart aches in seeing them so.
For it has come to me in the night, that the Lord Our God has called me to that purpose.
He has called me to enter this profession to be His hand; to heal those needing healing, to help those needing help.

And I ask: Why are there not enough of us who hear their cries? Why do we not answer? Are we deaf to the cries of our brothers and sisters? For sure they are our kin, who hail from and suckle from the bosom of our Eternal Motherland, who claim the same birth rite, the same history, the same root.

I shall answer for my Fatherland carries the faces of my loved ones.
Those dear to me,
The land of noble heroes who have died in thy sacred shores.

And I shall answer for my blood is thy blood.
My Blood hails from Bohol
My Blood hails from The Visayas
My Blood hails from The Philippines.
