For us to analyze the situation, we must study the history of what is written in scripture, the entire entity from the creation to his demise. A better understanding of this will give one a better idea of who we are fighting and battling in our daily lives.
When the Angels were created by the hand of God, they were given the beautific vision, meaning each and everyone of them saw the face of God. And had complete communion with the Lord.
The reason for Lucifer's rebellion in Heaven and ultimately, his bold claims was due in part because he was crowned and adorned by the Lord. He was the favorite, the most favored by The Most High. First of all, Lucifer was a created being. He was created by God Himself. Colossians 1:16 states, “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created by Him and for Him.” We know from scripture that Lucifer had dominion and authority. This authority was given to Lucifer by God.
However, in his own pride, and in the authority that God Almighty gave him, Lucifer craved and envied the position of the Most High.
In his own thoughts he declared his 5 'I WILLS':
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
~Isaiah 14: 12-14
And with just a single thought, he was cast down by the Anger of The Lord:
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
16They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
17That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
18All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
19But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.
20Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
21Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
22For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.
~Isaiah 14: 15-22
With a mere thought, Lucifer, who was considered second only to God himself, was stripped of his authority, and lost favor with God.
However, I've come into agreement with theologians about this aspect, but one thing that we are left questioning and unanswered is on basis of "WHY". Why did Lucifer choose to fight against the Most High after his fall. What made him want to rebel against God? And why did 1/3rd of all the Angels in Heaven side with Lucifer to fight against their own creator.
It is amazing and intriguing to think that these Angels actually went to war in legions for the purpose of deposing the Most High and extinquishing his authority for that of Lucifer's.
Foolish act on their part.
Theologians agree that the judgement on Lucifer and the fallen angels by the Lord God was to set an example of the absolute authority and power of the LORD.
God, indeed, is a forgiving God, yet also a just and righteous One. It implies and reiterates the impurity of Lucifer, and that it was in his own heart that led him to the path towards perdition. And eventual excommunication with the Most High.
In the end, it is Lucifer's own pride, his greatest weakness, that has forever pitched him against his own Father in Heaven. An eternal hatred towards the Almighty Father. The very one who molded and created him from nothingness. And showered him with celestial authority, favor and complete ethereal bliss.
Lucifer's total rejection of his own Father's Love and refusal to humble himself is mandated by his own Self Adoration. His own Hubris.
