There was an unseasonally heavy downpour. I was weighed down by longing for the kids. On the other end of the line, my wife was almost voiceless from cold.

But this is Sunday. And God is good--no matter what travails we go through, no matter how overcast the skies are, no matter how puny our voices of praise are in the immensity of his goodness. God is always good all the time.

I would like to share with you this medley of praise and worship songs that I led at church. Pasensiya na sa atong tingog nga igu-igo lang jud.

The background singer is a Davaoeno and the keybord player is his wife. They are good friends of mine. They were the ones who trained me how to sing. I started singing only about two years ago, because we couldn't have a regular vocalist at church. When my wife was here, she used to sing with me. Yes, all the intrumentalists are Filipinos and 80% of the members of the church are Filipinos.

I can't get this song out of my head now.

My son greeted me Happy Father's Day the other night. He asked me to send some clothes he had forgotten to bring to Bohol. As I rummaged through the cabinet, I was overcome by loneliness. But God is good! And He is good all the time!

Yes, God is good all the time. At times when we felt otherwise, that's the time when we are being pruned to perfection. We just have to trust in His will.

Now, as to Bene san's and the rest of the choir's singing, I am really impressed! In the parish where my aunt belongs to, their choir also sings good and there's only one white person among more than a dozen members of Pinoy. Even the conductor and the pianist are Pinoy! Just amazing! Keep it up, Bene san!

God is our Father. So as our Father loves us and reprimands us when he needs to; just as a Father loves his child, just as a father protects his child with his mighty arms and his thick hands; just as a father comforts his child with words to soothe the heart after a crisis. The Almighty Father, is just the same.

He is the Father of Fathers.

Fathers, despite their disposition, will always love their children. A Father's Love is semblance to the Love of God. Approachable, but feared. As we, too, must Fear and Love our God at the same time.

To Fear God is to Love God. Cherished are those to the bosom of the Lord are those who Fear Him.

My mother was heart broken, so was I and my sister for his actions, and we immediately feared the retribution of our Father towards him once he would hear of his actions.

When my Father came back from work, he heard of the incident and after disciplining him, we thought our Dad was angry at Don. But he did the unthinkable. He walked to my brother and told him, "Dali dinhi". He hugged Him. "I Love You, Don," he said. "I love you, please don't do that ever again."

I always remind my younger brother that the love Dad has for him--is like the Love of God. Just as a father reprimands to correct a wrong--so does the Lord. And as a father forgives a son of his mistakes, so does our Heavenly Father.

I like to think of it that way. Just a personal view lang.

Tito, your son is so lucky to have a father like you, sir. One who wishes only for the best for his family; wife, son and daughter. Sir, I always notice that you mention your son in your posts; maybe not directly, but indirectly. It is very obvious, sir, that you are a loving father. And Love your son.

At one point, I found myself in the same situation as your dad. There are times when the firm hand of discipline won't work, but gentle words of love and a warm embrace will.

My son sometimes think I expect him to be very smart at school. I told him I have never been as good in sports as he is, and so I can only encourage him to find his strengths and build on them.

Last time I talked to him, he told me he was chosen as "Prince Charming" of the class. I could only laugh in joy, telling him, "See, you are like your dad after all!" I do miss my family so much. I look forward to being with them again next month, God willing.

God is GOOD all the time.

The LORD is GOOD. The LORD is deserving and worthy of PRAISES.

I have to share a story to you guys that I find very faith-oriented. Last night, when I had a disagreement with my sister in the garage of our house. As we were arguing, out of no where a little 'thud' hit the floor of the garage as we opened the garage door.

We turned around and noticed that it was a baby blue-jay. The blue-jay is no more than 1 month old; a little fledgling. We were amazed at how it got into the garage door and into our house, so we assumed that it situated itself near the garage handle. The little thing dropped at least a good 2 feet from the door.

Immediately we stopped our bickering and assessed the situation. I told my sister to get gloves, and we took a basket and filled it with hay from our backyard, then placed the little bird in it. We have been nursing it ever since and feeding it with wet dog food. We are planning to return the bird to a wild bird conservancy in Cape May County, which is a good 40 minutes south of our house.

However, my sister has already named the little thing as "Baloo" lol. She said to me that it is probably a sign from God. lol. I couldn't help but smile. But the more I think of it, I think it is probably a sign from God.

Because this little bird, this little baby blue-jay was able to stop our petty bickering. And allowed us to focus our energy in assessing the bird's health and situation.

As much as I would love to keep this little baby bird, it must return to the wild be nursed appropriately by wild-life experts. But the lesson I and my siblings have gotten from it is this: Family First--LIFE FIRST.

And when I thought of it. I realized that it TRULY and was REALLY the LOVING LORD that willed this to happen.
It was Love that allowed us to care for this baby bird and it was Love for Live that compelled us to help it, who was in need.

Then I realized something. I realized that this was mandated in scripture:

"And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."
-1 John 4:16

Then I realized that this situation was indeed an act of God.

One of the 'little' miracles that HE showers us in our daily lives.

SO, as what Tito Benne said earlier in this thread, and I truly and faithfully reiterate, "GOD IS GOOD! ALL THE TIME!"

Mr. Benne,

Are you a member of a Pentecostal Church?

I attended a Pentecostal Church service several weeks ago (with a friend of mine). It was a different experience, but I liked it tho. Everyone sang in song out loud; and I could not help in breaking out in song as well.

You can feel the Spirit bitaw.

Hi Lorenzo,

Our church is interdenominational, consisting of people from different religious backgrounds--Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals, Presbyterians, Catholics, etc. I myself took eight years of my education under the Jesuits.

God, whose creation is myriad, is glorified by our diverse worship. Only if we look to Him, in whom we are all one, instead of to us, who are all created differently, can we all sing with one voice in praise.
