If free will threatens God's sovereignty, then every human choice would threaten God's sovereignty. Yet Christians and non-Christians make real choices every day, including sinful ones, without diminishing God's rule over the universe. Why then should responding to the gospel be treated differently? God's sovereignty is not weakened when He grants people the ability to receive or reject His gracious offer of salvation. Rather, His sovereignty is displayed in His ability to accomplish His purposes while holding people responsible for the choices they make.
