Donating to Church and Shopping
« on: February 26, 2009, 09:47:35 AM »
Isn't it strange how a 100-peso bill seems like such a large amount when you donate it to church, but such a small amount when you go shopping?

You have nothing to worry Tubig Bohol.  The Church is the richest institution on earth.  From  my church tax got a total sum deduction 600 Euro a year. At these days, it is almost 40,000.00 Pesos.

There is a beautiful verse in scripture that addreses this very topic.

It is found in the 12th Chapter of Mark, verses 41 to 44.

"Jesus sat down opposite the treasury and observed how the crowd put money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. A poor widow also came and put in two small coins worth a few cents. Calling his disciples to himself, Jesus said, "AMEN, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury. For they have all contributed from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood."

(you can find this in Mark 12: 41-44)

This verse is so beautiful, ang Ginoo dili man jud na siya buta. All knowing, all surpassing iyang Love ug iyang understanding. Matters not how much we contribute, but the meaning of it is given and addressed. The intent is made known to Our Lord.

So worry not on who donates who, or what, and don't be so concerned on what your brother does or gives with his own money. For he or she, according to his own works--as with faith--will rightly and justly receive judgment from God.

God Bless,
Love,
Bran Lorenzo
