I had, many times... I read an article that our memories did not come from the brain at all but form our DNA, so kung ang akong great grands has been to a place before does that mean nga we will somehow remember it bisan wa ta kaadto??? i'm fascinated by this topic. Im sure mo taas ni nga thread.....

... the feeling that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously (remembering the future).  Have you encountered this?  Let's demystify...

An explanation for déjà vu is that there is a slight malfunctioning between the long and short-term memory circuits of the brain. Somehow, specific information shortcuts its way from short to long-term memory storage, bypassing the usual mechanisms used for storage transfer. The details concerning this shortcut are not yet well understood. When this new, recent piece of information is drawn upon, the person thinks that the piece is coming from long-term storage and so must have come from the distant past. A similar theory says that the error is in the timing of the perceptive and cognitive processes. Sensory information is rerouted on its way to memory storage and, so, is not immediately perceived. This short delay causes the sensation of experiencing and remembering something at the same time, a very unsettling feeling. One other explanation is that déjà vu is actually the process of remembering memory connections, of following the impulses and synapses. All of these neurobiologically based explanations for déjà vu seem plausible and intriguing and perhaps there is some overlap or combination that accounts for the different experiences we call déjà vu.

Dejavu, or as what myself and other scientists would say is the epitome of the complex nature of the central and peripheral nervous system, the abilities within the cognitive self--and the beauty of the human body.

How brilliant and intelligent is our God, who willed us to be who we are ;)

unsa man pod diay ang nostalgia???

Nostalgia is when a person (it could be you, me, anyone really) remembers a particular person, thing, place, group of peope, location, event--which was stored within the cognitive processes of the central nervous system the brain--something in the external environment initiates/ induces the person to recall those recorded events.
Hence there nostalgia.

A particular example of this, Belle, is say you meet someone that is from Mindanao and you guys were talking about the fiestas you went to--and the person you were talking to mentioned the word 'diniguan' and automatically--your cognitive system triggers your brain to recall memories associated with 'diniguan' per se experiences you had with your family and friends back in Mindanao dealing with diniguan.  As a result of the immediate flooding of images of past events, loved ones, friends etc--your body reacts to it with awe, emotionality (which is manifested in either crying ((which is a result of stressed glands within the obicularis oculi and obicularis oris of the orbitory tract in the muscofacial system)).

As a result, nostalgia is manifested.

++++

The limbic system is a complex set of structures that lies on both sides and underneath the thalamus, just under the cerebrum.  It includes the hypothalamus, the hippocampus, the amygdala, and several other nearby areas.  It appears to be primarily responsible for our emotional life, and has a lot to do with the formation of memories. In particular, the hypothalamus is responsible for regulating your hunger, thirst, response to pain, levels of pleasure, sexual satisfaction, anger and aggressive behavior, and more.  It also regulates the functioning of the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems, which in turn means it regulates things like pulse, blood pressure, breathing, and arousal in response to emotional circumstances.

The hypothalamus sends instructions to the rest of the body in two ways.  The first is to the autonomic nervous system.  This allows the hypothalamus to have ultimate control of things like blood pressure, heartrate, breathing, digestion, sweating, and all the sympathetic and parasympathetic functions.

The other way the hypothalamus controls things is via the pituitary gland.  It is neurally and chemically connected to the pituitary, which in turn pumps hormones called releasing factors into the bloodstream.  As you know, the pituitary is the so-called “master gland,” and these hormones are vitally important in regulating growth and metabolism--and contribute to memory retrieval due to external causatives.

Hope that helps and explains.

deja vu...

when our body rests in sleep...our soul travels the cosmos...when your sixth sense is strong... you get to remember the scenarios, the people, the objects that you've when your soul separates the body... that is why sometimes we feel we are a reincarnation of somebody... from a monarchy, of an animal, etc... hence, when you meet your katapat ( soulmate ), you will sing "deja vu", hehehe

wala man mang limbawot akong balhibo...but it felt weird.

what i want to feel is the soul mate thing...I have a friend, he claimed that I was his soul mate. Tanan namo gi huna-huna and gi buhat, magka takdo gyod permi. It went on for like 2yrs. But I didn't call it soul mate, but mere co-incidence.

I feel like have already read the discussions in this board 3 weeks ago... have I travelled into the future? Or is this deja vu?

ang pag angay sa mga kanta depende na sa imong personality, outlook and receptiveness...  when the song gives its meaning and could relative to your own, then the song regardless of what type makes sense to you....

sometimes we need or long to experience a deja vu.. to spice up something that is established and inclined to boredom... for when you experience deja vu... you try to dig up the mystery of it....

DEJA VU - is an phychological experenced.  Can I consider my personal stress encountering daily work as DEJA VU?  As what had understood from Lorenzo's explanation, it is a sort of malfunctioning in brain....or something which is repeteadly occured or just        mentally disordered?

it is not a disorder...it has something to do with strong memory that even when youre on total sleep you sensor records what your soul / spirit has met when it travels.. hence it is like remembering your future...

yes bambi, all what they're saying is correct.... why it is remembering the future because you're really 100% sure nga wala pa na nimo nabuhat, nabisita o nakita, nakaestorya, ug uban pa pero it is too close and familiar to you ( even to the point nga dunay mga linya nga imong gisulti nga remember nimo exactly the same )....

Thanks for the explanation Jun..... I am not sure if this is DEJA VU!

I used to think and remember in a small island in Inabanga (is there an small island there?) as if was already there during my childhood but am not sure....sigi ko ug kahinumdom nga molakad ko ug tangki sa fishpond didto, di ra ba ko siguro if i was there for a fiesta visit by a relatives.   Must have to ask my mother inig-uli na naho pohon sa Pasko ug this island with relatives is existing. I hope she can help me...she is now hingalimtanon kay mag 85 na tawon sa Nov. In case, the imagination is true than  it is not considered as DEJA VU?? :-\ :-\.

Bambi, I saw a documentary about re-incarnation. These people dreamed and imagined places they've never been in their lives, they were able to describe specifically the places and the people and found out that they were re-incarnated. Very strange kay they live in very opposite worlds. But re-incarnation is totally different than deja vu...:)

re-incarnation and deja vu are different... yet they have similar manifestations... characteristics....in the sense that coincidencies prevail in frequencies and accuracy...

yes, I believe in re-incarnation....though I have not encountered yet...I have that feeling that when a person left in this world with unfinished agenda, and when his/her spirit at the time it detached from his/her body travels and accidentally met a human soul of almost perfect resemblance of the past, then enters the body and become an instrument to continue.. ( if given God's blessings )....

some psychics like madame rosa claimed that they can induce a mild hypnotism on a person and send him into a dreamlike state where he can go through his past or future life...
