University of Bohol Baby Lemurs demolished the aspirations of the hard fighting Holy Family of Nazareth Nazarethanians, 91-63 to officially enter the finals of the high school category competition of the 17th Bohol Schools Amateur Athletic Association 2nd John Geesnell Baba Yap inter School Hoop Cup at the capacity filled BWS gym.

The Baby Lemurs with Jayson Bolos at the helm showed might and power to overwhelm the stubborn Nazarethanians 51-30 as the buzzer rang ending the 1st twenty minutes of regulation time. Bolos was unstoppable with his perimeter shots and shifty drives to the basket to give his team the commanding lead. He was joined by 6'2” slot man Rex Bangalao and wily point guard Joseph James Morata, Fernando “the Rifle Man” Toledo and the off and on Daryll Sepe.

Team skipper Kyle Panong the versatile Feilbien Coquilla led the Dragons to a tumultuous attack against an untiring crew of the Holy Spirit School Crusaders to take the upper hand at the end of the 1st period, 17-13.

Coquille continued to fearlessly fought the opponents even as he was conspired with their prime slot man J.P. Romo but to no avail as the Crusaders' 1-2 punch in Angelo Macel “the sweet shooting” Rocha and shifty Jeff Villaruel strongly negated the impending threat for an onslaught to stage an upheaval enabling them stay closer by 2 points, 32-30 at lemon time.

In the ensuing 3rd period, the Crusaders kept their composure as the diminutive Lui Besa, the high leaping Ernie “the Silent Operator” Pahang, and Villaruel continued to fight relentlessly to bring the ballgame into a deadlock at 52 all.

The Crusaders sustained their brilliant performance as the game went into the thick of the fight but with a little over 4 minutes of the thrilling encounter, Kellvin “the Flash” Mascariñas, Lindyl “the Triggerman” Binoya, Panong, and Coquilla conspired to stage a counter assault to take the driver's seat, 70-62 as the buzzer sounded ending the regulation time.

Coach Carlo Cresencio did not take chances as he ordered his boys to keep playing as there was no tomorrow and so they played their all hearts out equally distributing among themselves their scoring chores and their defensive patterns effectively executed to make a breakthrough towards the end of the game. The final score was 91-63.

The win gave the Baby Lemurs the right to challenge the defending champions, Bohol Wisdom School Golden Dragons. Then the losers Nazarethanians will play the Crusaders for the 3rd spot.

In the elementary semi games, the Holy Spirit School mini Crusaders dumped the Holy Family of Nazareth Nazarethanians, 65-27; While Bohol Wisdom School mini Dragons whipped the Bohol International Learning Center mini Phoenix, 69-53.
