Rody Distrito is a former Filipino professional basketball player who played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) from 1981 to 1995. He was known as "The Destroyer" for his rugged and intense style of play. He is best remembered for making the game-winning shot for Ginebra San Miguel in the 1991 PBA First Conference finals against Shell Rimula X².
According to Wikipedia¹, Distrito moved to the United States with his family shortly after his retirement and got separated from his wife thereafter. In 2004, he was accused of stabbing to death a 24-year-old Mexican gangster in Las Vegas, Nevada, which he claimed was an act of self-defense¹. I could not find any recent information about his current whereabouts or status. I hope he is doing well and staying out of trouble.
