(Photo from the Philippine Under-16 team)The Philippines will now have two national basketball teams competing in FIBA World Cup events next year after the Philippine U16 team rallied past Chinese Taipei, 77-72, in the semifinals of the FIBA Asia U16 Championship in Tehran, Iran.
By earning a slot in the gold medal match against China, the Philippines automatically gained one of three Asian slots in next year's FIBA U17 World Cup in Dubai.
