Biggest Harassment Claim in Australia
« on: August 09, 2010, 12:01:20 AM »

Australia's poshest department store has offered to settle a 33 million dollar lawsuit brought over the alleged sexual harassment of a publicist by its former head, a report said Sunday.

David Jones has offered Kristy Fraser-Kirk "less than a million (Australian) dollars -- or about three percent of what she was hoping for" to settle Australia's largest sexual harassment claim, the Sun-herald newspaper reported.

The top-end department store was not immediately available for comment, but the Sunday Telegraph revealed that Fraser-Kirk had filed a harassment complaint against a former colleague when she worked for an Australian police force.

"I discussed ... in an informal meeting ... how (he) was occasionally invading my personal space and discussed that he please be made aware of that," she told the paper of the incident.

The claim led to the policeman involved being transferred to the highway patrol, the paper said.

Fraser-Kirk last week filed papers in the federal court claiming 37 million Australian dollars (33 million US) in punitive damages against David Jones and its former chief executive Mark McInnes over his alleged unwelcome advances.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
