my guess: 'plastic' means fake or artificial in filipino slang. used to describe persons, it could only mean 'hypocritical'. no wonder no filipino wants to be called 'plastic'. as for things, despite the qualities of plastic mentioned, consider the difference between plastic and bone china dinnerware. it's hands down for the latter.
