very professional man ni si isles. from her writings, she's very adept in the law, which makes sense because she's a good friend of my uncle boy, who was then the dean of the college of at san carlos university, before becoming a judge. so my guess is she took some paralegal or legal classes back in college. her husband also is an attorney. but isles' writings -- is that of an editor.

Hmm, from my Guoanbu contacts, I got the following faded picture of Islander as a child somewhere in Fujian province just before her fateful crossing of the South China Sea (now known as the West Philippine Sea) and eventual adoption by a childless Balingsya couple during the tenure of our own President Carlos Garcia...

According to my sources she was originally a girl, yes. They, understandably, could not vouch for what transformation she could have undergone after she crossed into the Philippine side of Scarborough Shoal...
