Hmmm, really? Probably join the seminary and become a Parish Priest. I still have thoughts of that...from time to time. he he he..

Honestly.

i know of a successful banker in cebu who opted to become a priest in his mid-30s.  he's now one of the most dedicated priests in the archdiocese.

a very successful (read: rich) businessman also opted, though his path was more circuitous.  i can imagine the internal storms he went through.

at a time when mobile phones were not so common, he already had one, which he had to give up when he entered the seminary.  i could give up everything i have but my mobile phone, he had complained.  but he gave it up anyway.

well, he had a girlfriend who he didn't give up like his mobile phone.  one day he set aside his planned vocation and married her.  the union didn't last.  after 2 children, 2 residential houses, and a good number of cars, he again gave up everything, including his wife (through annulment), and went back to the seminary.  i understand he's now a priest of a certain order, though i haven't heard of him since.

It's really weird that the thought of priesthood still comes to me, I just try to repress the feelings and the thoughts because it gets in the way of my duties. Persistent lagi kaayo he he he.

I'm happy to hear that your banker friend was able to let everything go and pursue the desire of his heart. Truly, men like these who are able to give everything up for Holy Orders are commendable and admirable.

Hmm, I won't be surprised if he subsequently left the priesthood. He could now be a very successful (read: happy) family man again.

;D
