yeah, when i was in europe, they thought am malaysian... and other people...and i answered them am a "hot blooded" mexican LOL
Hahaha Leo. I can relate with you man, out here in western Pennsylvania, the people are what i would call 'red necks' and have been depraved of multiculturalism, to say the least. They think everyone who is dark skinned as 'Mexican' or anyone with semblance of oriental phenotype as being 'chinese'. So the last time my family came to visit me in college--we went to a nice country restaurant--and the waitress mistook my father, myself and my younger brother as being 'Mexican' LOL and that momma and my younger brother as 'chinese' LOL. We had to explain to them that we were Filipino--and sad to say the waitress didnt even know what that was; or in her own words "Y'alls look the same to us--and sorry 'bout da misconception".
But thinking about that, it really does strike home to me how mixed the Philippines is. I mean you have Filipinos who have some semblance of Hispanic facial features (like my dad's side) and then there are those who have some kind of east asian phenotypic features (from either chinese, vietnamese or japanese ancestry) and then there are those who are endowned with the beauty of Malay features.
In the form of a beautiful and attractive brown or tan skin tone; thick and shiny black hair.
