No, it won't. We have a damaged, abnormal political culture.
We should have an authoritarian government. Too much democracy hampers our progress.

Romans 10:9
"That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved."

A very amazing answer, Mike.

I am studying the history of Thailand and the role of their King, Bhumibol. I find it interesting how the Thai people clamor to him for national pride, and confraternity, despite political instability. The Philippines, interestingly, as much as it claims to be a Republic, really is an Oligarchy.

The same or less ruling elite that ruled the Philippines (the Peninsulares) during the Spanish regime, still rules it to this day. The same land-owning elite retain their power, albeit, focusing now more on a different source of power. Media-Politic.

Those who control media in the Philippines , control the entire country. The CEOs and stockholders of large Philippine media conglomerates rule the Philippines. They easily appease the masses with TV shows, drama, etc. Which , interestingly, silences clamor from time to time.

The same powerful families, such as the Ayala Family, control the business districts, the banks, landed corporations etc. The only time there was real change was with the election of Estrada, who actually was elected by the poor masses; and when too powerful, was deposed by the political families and rich economic families of the Philippines; under guise of corruption. :)

When, naturally, almost all politicians in the Philippines are corrupt. Crab mentality from top to bottom. When one becomes too powerful, they depose them. The same thing they did to President Ferdinand Marcos, whom, if I may, was a brilliant mind. The perfect politician.

The current President-elect, also comes from a powerfully landed elite class. Whose family owns Hacienda Luisita. He belongs to the Peninsulare Class.

An oligarchy disguised as a republic.

The entire OFW class are pawns in this game, you see. All of us. A product of the will of the Peninsulare Class to silence the clamor and rudimentary conditions of the country. In order to facilitate their power, willed it that the working classes go abroad so as to provide an economic lifeline for the country. This was a brilliant Marcosian-concept, which he implemented to reduce the congestion of the small republic.

Pawns in this game.

The over 3 Million Filipinos abroad in the United States, the over 1 million in Saudi Arabia, and the untold millions in Canada, Europe, Australia and China.

There really has been no change in the Philippines. Nothing. If he were alive today, Dr. Rizal would commit suicide to see how his dear Filipinas has remained as static as it was when he perished under the Spanish bullet. The friars were replaced with powerful families, and the Peninsulare Class, whom he detested vehemently, retain power.

His beloved masses, are still the pawns of the elite. Forced to go abroad for means of a brighter future. While the landed elite, take control of power. Media-Politic. They have taken control of the information sent abroad; and fuels the messages for the OFWs to work, to send money, etc.

A rather bright and wise consolidation of power.

:)
