Ma luoy ko very easily. :)
Only because i know that my grandparents were very poor and suffered economic woes in their youth.
If i see a poor person, i cannot help but think of my Papa Titing (paternal grandfather) who left Pintuyan Southern Leyte when he was only 8 years old on a banka. To search for a better future.

When I went back to Bohol in 1998, i saw very poor kids in the port by Cebu and were selling foods to foreign-based Pinoys and saw one boy who was hauling a huge package/balikbayan box for this one family. I thought of my papa titing. I am sure when he was  younger when he first left Pintuyan, he did something like that...honest low paying work. I could not help but cry.

Again, the importance of one's roots. Never forget it jud.

My father used to tell me, "Always be compassionate to others who are less fortunate than you, because when you give blessings, God never forgets that. God loves a happy giver...."

:)
So True!

I would like to think so.Every x"mass,I sent packages to the children in my barrio.Sometimes barbie dolls  for girls and toy cars for boys. And pencils. Then they have a party and we gave them food.Hot dogs and pansit.Sometimes we butcher a pig.
It touches my heart because my sister video the whole party and send it to me.We always invite the town priest for a mass before they started the party. If you have been the parish priest for the last 25 years in Bilar you know what family I am talking about...
I am not rich and I am not bragging but I would just like to share my blessings.  Everytime I see those little innocent eyes waving to the camera and says thank you it is HEAVEN.

Cujo, God bless your heart, and your giving spirit. There is nothing better than a person who loves to give and is willing to give.
Ang saying ani, 'God Loves a Happy Giver...."

Bless you! May He bless you abundantly.....~~

If God grant me the power to change the course of destiny, I will make a difference in the lives of children around the world. But the world is too big for me, too impractical to dream about. It is even too ambitious to dream of helping the children of the Philippines. My meager resources are just enough to take care the children in my own backyard.

Charity begins at home, but I wish I can do more.

There is no better satisfaction but to see the world through the eyes of a child. That is so compelling and compassionate.

Wolf, what a beautiful message. It really does put a 'local level' to Mahatma Gandhi's "Be the change you want to see in the world."

Rizal said that the children are the hope of the fatherland, and if they are we need to prepare them for the future. What kind of future we expect if we don’t train, develop, educate and equip our children with the necessary tools to run the world 30 years or so.?

We need to nurture our children with love and emotional security, so they will grow into wholesome adults and responsible persons. It is not literally mean parenting, but, the children as a whole component of the social structure; the most vulnerable and yet, indispensable human resource for continual existence of human life and social orders.

I adhere to the idea of paradigm shift by going down to the basic. Show our children that we care in doing that we are forging a whole new world.

As always I am an active supporter of Save the Children Foundation, through advocacy and meager resources, we can make a difference in the lives of children.

Yes I am very compassionate according to the people around me.
I try to send my nieces and nephews to college, help support a seminarian financially kay puhon puhon sila napud ang mahimong pari, help the foreign mission kay dapat jud.Mas dako ko ug kalooy aning mga missionary kay grabe jud ilang sacrifice gibuhat para sa less fortunate.
