I play guitar but not much as what others did, by listening they can play a song without seeing the chords of it.

When I dole out food to the poor they call me a Saint, but when I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist.

this is my first musical instrument, the 12-stringed laud (lute in english).  i was one of two who played this instrument in a rondalla when i was 13.

when i outgrew the rondalla, i switched to the guitar.  now i have my violin.

admittedly, i'm not good at any musical instrument.  being tone deaf renders me a slow learner.  thus i have to read notes (a slow note reader to boot) and memorize them because i can never go oido.  but i play anyway to drive away my demons.

kaayo ra nga gikugihan pa gyod ug himo ani para manaygon.  wa lang i-flatten ang mga tansan for a better sound.  sayang.

the times they are a-changing... karon, ang mga batang manaygonay di na gani maningkamot ug himo agig puhunan ani nga musical instrument.  duha ra ka bato ang gigamit imbis tansan, gipukpok-pukpok against each other agig duyog sa kanta, morag cymbals.  diha poy usa, iya rang duha ka kamot ang duyog, pakpak-pakpak.  ma-impressed pa tingali ko kun tulo pa ka kamot.  pukpok, pakpak, bato, kamot.  how cheap naman.

He he, and take note of its patina of age, and envision the loving grip it used to receive from the fragile hands of a cute little boy...
