I would like to add that for most people, the interview portion of the selection process can be the most difficult part and can be quite intimidating as well. Individuals can develop interview anxiety which has symptoms of increased heart rate and increased oxygen delivery to the body, widening of the lungs and bronchial tubes to meet the demand for more oxygen, narrowing of arteries, allowing increased blood flow to primary organs such as the brain. There can also be increased muscle tension, dilated pupils and reduction in the motility in the intestine, temporarily ceasing digestion as well. Individuals who are interviewed who undergoe anxiety can be easily upset and overly emotional, can even shake, and can even be confused by the questions asked.

Luckily there are solutions to interview anxiety and these is through therapeutic cognitive therapy. The step includes identifying the erroneous perception of threats that lead to the anxiety. The second step is having the person access real information that will challenge and modify the fearful thoughts.
