I am not, nor do I believe the superstitions in the Philippines. However, I was culturally sensitive when I was in the Philippines.
All the things they talked about: the use of the term 'pwera bujag', crossing over a burning bush once leaving a cemetary, etc.
I like to remain culturally sensitive despite not believing in said superstitions. Interesting kaayo.
When I was in Leyte , I overheard some family members talk about ghost stories and stories involving 'wakwaks', 'mananangal' etc. Tho i did not believe in these things, I refrained from stating my reluctance to believe in them. I remained quiet and listened to the stories to absorb the oral folklore.
