Both.
He was the second disciple  after Mary of our God Almighty and at the same time  apostle by way  as itinerant preacher.

Yes, Pare is correct.

A Disciple of Christ is a follower of Christ.

The Apostles were the chosen 12. Men who were charged by Christ to baptize and proclaim in The Name of the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit.

The 12 Apostles were told to proclaim the Lord, and the Gospel of Christ.

They were anointed by the Holy Spirit during Pentecost.

The 12 apostles are the foundations of the bishopric of the Church.

Theirs is the Apostolic Tradition. The laying of blessings and appointment by hand.

And Peter was, indeed, the head of the apostles.
